Multi-site network design and security

Context

A complete multi-site network, designed and emulated in GNS3 with VLANs, routers and switches.

It brings routing, security and quality of service together in a single design.

Architecture

Remote sites across a routed backbone

The backbone runs OSPF, BGP and MPLS over IPv4, with IPv6 integrated into it. Remote sites are linked by IPsec VPN tunnels; a zone-based firewall and ACLs control access, and QoS prioritises voice traffic.

What I did

Designed the multi-site network with VLANs, routers and switches.
Configured dynamic routing with OSPF, BGP and MPLS.
Set up IPsec VPN tunnels between the remote sites.
Controlled access with a zone-based firewall and ACLs.
Prioritised voice traffic with QoS.
Integrated IPv6 into the IPv4 backbone.
